Dolomites to Lucerne (with a Speeding Ticket)
On the road by 9am, but not before one more amazing breakfast at the hotel. Today was a big drive day, about 5.5 hours from the Dolomites to Lucerne. And we can now officially confirm: the speed ticket count is 1. Coming out of a mountain tunnel, we were doing about 120 in a 100 zone. So I guess we'll be waiting for that charge from the rental company. Worth it? We'll see.

About halfway through, we stopped at a grocery store while still in Austria since everything in Switzerland costs roughly one million dollars. Grabbed a hot lunch there too, which was actually great, and loaded up on supplies before crossing the border. At 1:08pm we crossed from Austria into the tiny country of Liechtenstein, and by 1:12pm we were in Switzerland. Four minutes of Liechtenstein. That's the whole experience.

We arrived at our Airbnb and it is a gem. We actually booked this place just three days ago when we were in the Dolomites and realized we didn't want to be stuck inside a hotel room for three nights. Got super lucky finding it so last minute. Given how expensive Switzerland is, it's nice to be able to make our own coffee, have breakfast, lunch, and dinner without eating out every meal. The place has plenty of room and it already feels like home base.

Also, shoutout to Oakley who was racing today at the corgi races in Fort Erie. Coming in as the defending champion, he didn't quite match yesterday's performance but came in second in his heat. A little distraction at the start line cost him a couple seconds. Still number 1 in our hearts.
